Mopar is displaying two Fiat 500X concept cars at this year's SEMA show. SEMA stands for the Specialty Equipment Market Association, and holds a yearly trade show in Las Vegas highlighting the latest aftermarket and OEM parts and accessories. Mopar, the parts and accessories division in FCA customized a pair of Fiats - the 500X Chicane and 500X Mobe - that showcase what can be done with the Mopar accessories catalog and some imagination. Here is a look at them.
The sporty member of this family is the blue-colored Chicane study that sits very close to the ground, thanks to a Mopar prototype suspension kit, while also getting a cat-back exhaust for the 2.4-liter four-pot, concept exhaust tips and bigger brakes.
Adding to its stance, are the (conceptual) oversized 20-inch two-tone rims and the ground-effects body kit in black, with Mopar also adding racing stripes and a Gloss Black paint on the roof. On the inside, the tuning outfit added a plethora of production and concept accessories, ranging from a bright pedal kit to Katzkin leather seats.
The other 500X model, called Mobe, reverses the suspension setup by adding height while riding on 18-inch wheels. Supposedly made to “haul toys to the beach in search of surf and sand”, the Ivory Pearl colored Mobe combines matte black and bronze accents with a roof rack and side rails. The interior has also been customized with accent blue seat inserts embroidered with the “X” logo and other Mopar accessories. The only change to the 2.4-liter mill is a cat-back exhaust.
