Hi Folks,

2nd service is looming, talking to my dealer this appears to be a lot more expensive than I expected it to be!!

I'm not near the manual at the moment, is this a detailed service - from chatting to the service adviser last year I thought this was just oil/filter, as the spark plugs were long intervals, as was brake fluid etc?

Cheers,

Just to update, I've spoken to two other dealers now and the price is the same, apparently the biggest service of the warranty. Next year drops back to stupidly cheap.

Checking the manual online apparently a full service of: oil/filter, air filter, spark plugs, brake fluid, pollen filter, various other items plus they are recommending an aircon and fuel system flush (must use as much fuel as possible before Friday!).

A way of getting more money whilst the car is in warranty and/or PCP loan terms? I'll leave that there :)

Sitting down?? £320.05. It's a fixed price by Fiat - I checked with a few dealers, it was same price at all of them. They also recommend a flush of air con, fuel and oil. That was an extra £25.

Apparently next year it's back to low cost next year, this is oil, brake fluid, plugs and all filters inc pollen. The plugs are incredibly pricey....

I've no idea if I have a different aircon unit to you, but when my car was new it needed a new Thermostat Housing. (Bear with me) This involved complete degassing, removal, refitting and regassing of the aircon unit to get to it. Firstly they didn't have the tools to do it as it was a brand new design, and secondly it was a whole new gas which was allegedly 'gassed for life' and they had to get a private contractor in to do the aircon work as Fiat hadn't got round to supplying the tools or the gas. So I would definitely question the aircon work unless it's just a 'clean-up' and sterilisation job.

Hi Alan,

It was just a hygiene thing, they offered a "detox" for the fuel system, aircon and IIRC cooling (or brake fluid, can't recall now!).

I noted the aircon kit at their workshop so my dealer can at least regas.
