Hi there

I have just purchased a 15 plate Fiat 500x (ex-demonstrator 2616 on the clock).

Love it but tonight when I was driving home in the rain a flashing red light appeared in the speedometer when I stopped at a set of traffic lights!!

It is still flashing when I parked up and locked the car.

Any ideas, looked the manual but can't see anything about flashing red lights on the speedometer.

Would appreciate any help as I am worried sick and driving my son mad as think this is not good!

Cheers

According to the handbook I think this is the warning light for the alarm. I have such a light, but to the best of my knowledge I don't have an alarm unless it was standard fit on Opening Edition.

It may be the immobilser in lieu, but then why could you drive the car with the immobiliser active?

Possibly a damp weather gremlin, but won't hurt to get your dealer to check it out

The only red light is the alarm as far as I know. This is what the handbook says: This light will flash rapidly for approximately 4 seconds when the vehicle security alarm is arming. The light will flash at a slower speed continuously after the alarm is set.The security light will also come on for about three seconds when the ignition is first turned on.
