I am hopeing that someone here can help me, I have a 500x that needs the tailgate release switch replacing.
I can’t find a replacement anywhere and I’m loathed to go to the main dealer as I will probably need a mortgage ..

Can anyone offer an advice S to where I can get one from please ? I have tried all the usual places ..

Check the wiring first as it comes from the roof into that tailgate,always a broken wire....inside the Hoover type wiring harness cover.

Thankyou.. it’s the mechanism within the switch.. it won’t move when pressed ..

The press tab for the boot stays in as it gets full of crap, squirt wd 40 into the gap, use a flat blade to prise it open and shut a few times till it gets free it the hand press cant unlock from the rear by pressing it while it's jammed closed, need to be free

Free the handle.. Stuck in, screw driver, wd 40,worked for me,
